‪There’s a great vibe at this first-ever @APCCanada Administrative Professionals Conference - West conference, here in Vancouver.‬ ‪Delighted to be working with this great group of career assistants, and appreciating the Christmas decor here at Sutton Place Hotel. ‪ #apcwest ‬#professionaldevelopment #assistant #executiveassistant #vancouvervancity #itschristmastimeinthecity #holidaydecor #christmastree More than a few assistants approached me after my Saturday presentation at #ExecSecLIVE in Atlanta and told me I’d scared them with my presentation - and that they were going to make some changes in their cybersecurity practices. This morning, it was gratifying to read FB feed comments from three different continents picking up on lessons from my presentations. Am thinking of a new tag line 😂 ... Shelagh Donnelly: Transforming assistants’ and their executives’ cyber practices, one scare at a time! Today, though, I’ll be doing anything but scaring assistants. Here at @apccanada #apcwest conference in my home town, I’ll be working with them on self advocacy, self-promotion and negotiating on your own behalf. Tomorrow, we’ll focus on elevating the quality of meeting minutes. It’s people who make the greatest impact, and Club Concierge Minka made this traveller feel welcome despite the hour yesterday - as did Lynn when we met. We began the evening at @thewhitleyhotel before making our way to @poncecitymarket - which represents revitalization of the city’s historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building. From there, we made our way past other local landmarks such as the iconic Bank of America skyscraper, said to be the 107th tallest building on the planet, and Coca Cola’s corporate office before enjoying more great company and food (swordfish 😋) at The #Optimist fish camp and oyster bar.
