Weekend Poll: Do You Believe Automation Will Impact Your Career?

If you’re like me, you may have read yet another article last week about artificial intelligence and the likelihood of robotics and other tech advancements adversely impacting numerous jobs in years to come.

It’s not as though innovation hasn’t disrupted labour forces before; think of your student days and everything you learned about the Industrial Revolution. You needn’t even go that far back, as many admin. professionals whose careers extend a couple of decades or more will have seen evolutions in their own workplaces.

In an August 2015 article in The AtlanticJerry Kaplan highlighted elements of a 2013 paper by researchers Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael A. Osborne. He wrote about gender-biased occupations and a projection that there’s less short-term risk of job loss for those who work in roles where the ability “to read people’s emotions and intentions” is critical to success. Sound like any job you know?

That leads me to this weekend’s question:

Do You Believe Automation/Tech Advances Will Impact Your Career?

Please take a minute to complete the poll below. I look forward to hearing what you have to say, and will publish the results on Tuesday.

“Select” whichever responses apply, and remember to CLICK on the golden “VOTE” ICON AFTER EACH QUESTION.
