A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: a 20-year-old mare named Margaret and her as-yet unnamed foal, who was less than a week old when I photographed them. How do I know? I ran into their owner, Cathy, the next day. Contrary to my earlier perception, the horses of England’s New Forest aren’t wild. They’re owned by locals and allowed to roam the New Forest.
