A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: Inside the lobby of Washington, DC’s Willard Hotel, where many US Presidents – and others including Martin Luther King, Jr. – have stayed over the course of the property’s more than 200 years. Located on Pennsylvania Avenue, this appealing InterContinental hotel is (under normal circumstances) less than six minutes by foot from the White House. On our first stay there, the hotel was heavily populated by teachers from across the US who’d arrived in DC for recognition of excellence in teaching.
