A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: beautiful blossoms last May, on the slope below the medieval walls surrounding the city of York, England. The Roman Walls that preceded this one were in place until 866, and the subsequent wooden wall was replaced over the course of the 13th and 14th centuries with the remains of the wall we see today. The remaining 3.4k km/two miles of the remaining masonry represent the longest town walls in England.
