Weekend Poll: Are you using AI to draft workplace communications or other deliverables?

A reported 300,000+ people used AI to generate 2024 “Linkedin rewinds”
Are you among the 300K+ people Coauthor says shared 2024 LinkedIn recaps/”rewinds” in recent weeks? Did you look at others’ posts but give it a pass personally? Or, are you inactive on LinkedIn and unfamiliar with what I’m talking about?
Whatever your degree of familiarity with the flurry of 2024 rewind posts, I’ve seen a fair number of them posted by friends and others I respect. The opportunity to generate your own 2024 rewind has, just like 2024, now wrapped up. This is an AI system that can generate text – and posts – based on a review of an individual’s LinkedIn profile and activity. If you generated a 2024 rewind, the outcome included some stats, three words to convey a person’s “vibe”, a description of your “superpower” and your top LinkedIn quote of the year. The rewind also included text people could include in such posts.
Even though I’m opposed to communicating our strengths in terms of “superpowers”, I did give the “rewind” resource a couple of whirls, hours apart, to see what it would generate. I tried it twice to gauge its consistency.
My “vibe”: trainer, expert and connector/envoy

What did Coauthor gleam from my LinkedIn profile and activity? There were variations in the two reports and cards, yet there was consistency in describing my “vibe” as an “expert” and “trainer”.
It chose “connector” as my third vibe in one result, and “envoy” in the other. Fair enough, and the system did, overall, tap in to two of the three words that reflect my personal branding: authentic, expert and inspiring.
What, though, of my supposed “superpower”? Both results presented me as someone who elevates people. It identified me as “Elevating assistants through practical wisdom” in one output and, in the other, as “Elevating professionals through authentic challenge”.
That “authentic” term goes back to my personal branding, and my approach to life. I do also challenge people, in the friendliest way, during presentations. The two quotes supposedly attributed to me varied, while reflecting a similar theme.
What business is behind all this?
After seeing some of the early ” LinkedIn 2024 Rewind” posts, and before using Coauthor myself, I decided to check in to the entity behind these posts, with “cards” that made me think of supportive elementary school report cards. When I followed the trail that led me to Neon Data Inc., I clicked its website link on LinkedIn … only to get a WIX screen with the statement, “Looks like this domain isn’t connected to a website yet”
What I have gleamed is that Coauthor is positioning itself as a competitor to “… using tools like ChatGPT”, which it says means “… diluting your voice”. Coauthor identifies itself as a resource to “craft posts in your authentic voice”. While I’m a paying ChatGPT subscriber, and I could have it write articles, posts and more on my behalf, I like to use my own brain, research, thoughts and words.
This ChatGPT challenger, and its talk of crafting content “in your authentic voice” has me thinking again about the extent to which assistants and your colleagues are using it.
All this leads me to a question, and my first Weekend Poll in a while.
Are you using AI in your career?

ChatGPT, which I’ve written about a number of times here on Exceptional EA, has seen tremendous growth in terms of users since its November 2022 debut. I tried to get a handle on how many humans are using this AI as of January 2, 2025. ChatGPT states it has over 300 million users, and approximately 123.5 million “daily active users”.
There are competitors, including MS Copilot, Google’s Gemini (which was known this time last year as Bard), and more.
Are you using AI to craft business communications on your behalf? I know others are using it to draft emails, reports, speeches and more.
You’ll find a quick poll below and, if you are using AI in the creation of your business communications or other work, it’d be great if you’d also ID in the comments details of the typesof content/deliverables you’re producing with the aid of AI.
