A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: one of the assorted breeds of flamingoes at Slimbridge Wetland Centre, situated (as you might guess) near a place called Slimbridge, in Gloucestershire, England. I drove here from Bath, enroute to the Cotswolds this last May. It’s part way between Bristol and Gloucester. Known as WWT Slimbridge, this wetland wildlife reserve has been in place since 1947 and is considered by many to be the birthplace of modern conservation.
