After a particularly demanding work week, it was nirvana last night to pop down to Spanish Banks for a low key dinner and good company.
We were a stone’s throw and yet miles away from the city and work. With clear skies and warm weather, we set up shop amid some logs for a little barbeque and Asian salad on the beach. Sailboats and ships shared the harbour, and we shared the sand with fellow picknickers who flew kites high above their temporary camp. More than one passerby turned and paused as the gentle breeze carried the scent of our simple dinner on the grill, and everyone enjoyed the clean, salt air – and, as evening closed ’round us – the tide tugging in, and a dreamy sunset.
