Here in Vancouver, we’ve been thrilled to watch FIFA’s Women’s World Cup matches live at BC Place Stadium, where the retractable roof was open wide again Sunday, and the excitement continues to build as our city looks forward to hosting the final match on Sunday afternoon.
Until then, many of us find ourselves planning this evening and also tomorrow’s Canada Day celebrations around the semi-finals, with the US taking on Germany in Montreal tonight and Japan playing England tomorrow in Edmonton. Come Saturday afternoon, we’re likely to have our eyes glued on the third place match, to be played in Edmonton. Here are shome shots from Sunday afternoon’s match, where we were proud to cheer on the Canadian women.
Throughout the week, and particularly on Sunday, you’ll likely find many Vancouverites happily adjusting our routines and opportunities to commune with nature, below, to ensure we catch the final match. And before you ask, yes, that first shot below is people enjoying yoga at Kits Beach last night. This really is how some of us live.
