Weekend Poll: Do You Sing for Pleasure?

A week or so ago, we watched a documentary on longevity and healthy aging. You’ll probably be unsurprised to hear that diet, physical activity and strong family/social connections were all identified as factors that positively impact lifespans.

You might be surprised, however, to learn that the documentary specifically pointed to singing – and doing so among friends – as a contributor to longevity in Okinawa, Japan. Other research suggests that the nervous system benefits from the deep breathing implied in singing, and that the social aspect is not to be underestimated.

This leads us to my latest Weekend Poll …

Do you sing for pleasure?

Please take a couple of minutes to complete the poll below, and I’ll publish results next Tuesday.

“Select” whichever responses apply, and remember to CLICK on the golden “VOTE” ICON AFTER EACH QUESTION.
