We’ve focused lately on how organisations can support admin. professionals who are new to their role, and it occurs to me that it would be interesting to turn the table.
Many of us have worked with a principal/executive who is new to the organisation. If you’ve ever welcomed a new boss who is also new to the executive office in general, though, you’ll know that this is an entirely different kettle of fish.
I’ve been in this situation three times. With one of the rookies, you’d never have known it was his first experience as a VP. He was a star from day one. With the other two, talented and skilled as they were, there were learning curves. These learning curves, while potentially creating challenges for admin. professionals, can also serve as opportunities. That leads to the focus of this weekend’s poll:
