Our global admin. community is impressive, and highly connected
… but, even though I’d been enjoying connecting with readers on Twitter for quite a while, I didn’t realise just how connected until I caved about this time last year and began using Facebook on a personal level. I did so after years of resisting on the basis of some Facebook policies, and likely wouldn’t have taken the leap if a certain relative hadn’t moved more than half way across our massive country.
However, I’m glad I did … and owe England’s Louise Whitehead a debt of gratitude for promptly welcoming me to this world by letting many friends in the UK know I’d joined their ranks.
This week, while I’ve been preparing for board and committee meetings, many fellow trainers and admin. professionals have begun gathering in two distinct parts of the world. Paula Moio has again returned to Angola to train assistants there. When I was in England this Fall, I was highly impressed (and unsurprised) by the passion and commitment Paula has for this undertaking. On social media this week, Paula’s been sharing word of her travels to Angola for this particular module.
Meanwhile, back on this continent, admin. professionals from a number of countries have begun descending on Washington, DC to attend Executive Secretary LIVE. I’m looking forward to being one of the LIVE speakers in England next March but, for now, have already begun enjoying the DC conference vicariously through others’ posts on social media.
Participants in Executive Secretary LIVE are connecting on social media with counterparts from different cities, countries and continents. They’re providing logistical advice for one another, and they’re also using social media channels as part of the networking and learning opportunities on which they’re embarking.
You’ll see below just a few of the social media photos from the last day or so, which leads us to this weekend’s question:
What forms of social media do you use?
Please take a couple of minutes to complete the poll below, and I’ll publish results next Tuesday. “Select” whichever responses apply, and remember to CLICK on the “VOTE” ICON AFTER EACH QUESTION.
I look forward to hearing what you have to say, and it will be interesting to check back and see how your responses compare to others’. Check back Tuesday for the results of this poll.
