With thanks to all who participated, here are your responses to my question … How comfortable are you with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI)?
The majority of you are okay (or more than okay) with AI in your lives
I asked readers how comfortable you are with the advancement of AI in our lives.
It turns out that almost a third of respondents were able to give a 4 or 5 out of 5 rating, implying high degrees of comfort … and more than 75% of you gave ratings of 3 or higher out of 5. At the other end of the spectrum, 7% of respondents reported being very uncomfortable with AI in your lives.
Your comfort levels are lower when it comes to impact on your career
When it comes to how you feel about AI’s impact on the admin. career, only 26% of respondents were able to give a 4 or 5 out of 5 rating, implying high degrees of comfort … and roughly two thirds of you gave ratings of 3 or higher out of 5.
If you’ve been doing your math, you’ll know that just over a third of respondents assigned ratings of 2 or lower out of 5, implying discomfort with what AI will mean to your career.
How do these results compare with your views on AI? Readers’ comments on social media suggest acceptance that AI’s advancement is inevitable. Some acknowledged both benefits and concerns associated with AI, while others encouraged fellow assistants to “be more confident in adding value” in areas of the job not impacted by artificial intelligence.
