Weekend Poll: Communications amid your evolving career

We’re looking at all things communication in this hybrid world of ours

¡Hola! from Spain. I’m in the midst of travels combining presentations and further explorations of this world of ours.

Having had the opportunity to be in touch with assistants from a number of different countries, I’ve been learning anecdotally about how some of you are hot desking in the midst of hybrid careers. More than a few people have bid farewell to the concept of having your own desk or office.

Mindful that situations can vary from one assistant, employer, community and country to another, I’ve prepared this latest Weekend Poll to explore not only how you’re working, but also how you’re communicating with your principals (bosses) and other colleagues.

… and that includes assertiveness and negotiation skills, and your readiness to self-promote

Assistants often step forward to speak up for and negotiate on behalf of colleagues, employers and other stakeholders, and promote others. Think of the conversations you have and the pencil sharpening you encourage when undertaking offsite event planning, or other services and purchases you coordinate on behalf of the office.

Many who are engaged in a healthy workplace culture are also stellar brand ambassadors, and actively promote their organisations.

… but are you comfortable with self-promotion and negotiating on your own behalf?

How comfortable, then, are you at communicating your own value, articulating your goals and negotiating and advocating on your own behalf?

All this, of course, leads to the topic of my latest Weekend Poll:

How is your career unfolding, and how are you doing with asserting and promoting yourself in this hybrid world of ours?

Please take a couple of minutes to complete the poll below.
