Exceptional EA

A thought for your day, with my good wishes …

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm,

but to add colour to my sunset sky.

― Rabindranath Tagore

Colours

This is what it looks like in and around Duirinish and Kyle of Lochalsh, on the Isle of Skye’s Duirinish (Diùirinis) Peninsula, If these place names sound like a mouthful, the views are an eyeful!

Are there some places on this planet of ours that call you back time and again? That’s how I feel about Scotland. If you’d like to travel internationally but haven’t yet done so, give it time … and some serious goal setting and follow through. I was in my forties before I travelled beyond North America, and have now had the privilege of exploring a few different countries.

This May, Scotland was once again on my radar, and I returned to the Isle of Skye. My first visit to this achingly beautiful part of the world was prompted by my own heritage; I continue to return for its beauty and to explore new (to me) places of incredible sights. This year, heading back to Portree from Plockton, the sunset sights by a bridge in Kyle were too lovely to do anything but park and inhale the views. Those yellow plants in the foreground are gorse, and they’re prolific. I took these shots and videos just before 10:00 PM; the days are long in the merry month of May!

For the next while on IG, I’m continuing to concentrate on stories (simply click on my headshot within IG to see the stories) rather than posts, and you’ll see plenty of uplifting images from home and afar.
