Autumn

A thought for your day, with my good wishes …
Autumn is a second spring, when evert leaf is a flower.
― Camus
Are you finding time flying? It seems we just embarked on summer, and now we’re marking autumn’s arrival … or, for those of you in southern climes, you’re likely welcoming spring.

While spring is my favourite season, autumn has its own splendid charms. Today, I’m mixing things up a bit. The photos I’m sharing are from one of my walks last September in New York City’s Central Park.
It’s just three years or so ago since I learned about Central Park’s Conservatory Garden, which you see in the photo atop this page. Now, I go there every time I’m in the city, and could easily spend an entire day enjoying different parts of the garden – where renovations have been underway for a while.
The garden is at the northeast end of the park, and just across from the substantial buildings that form what’s known as Museum Mile.
You can choose from a few entrances; one impressive entry is through the Vanderbilt Gate, at 5th Avenue off 105th Street.
The other photos here are also from September 2023 at Central Park, and the symmetry of its stunning Bow Bridge.
If you’d like a bit of Canadiana, scroll further down and you’ll find some videos from autumns past in Vancouver. We have a gorgeous day today, and much of the limited colour to be seen in our trees this week is a reflection of the dry summer we’ve had rather than the onset of chilly evenings.
When it comes to capturing Fall 2024 colours, I’ll be spending most of October in England, France, Sweden, Scotland and by the Colorado Rockies. In addition to the events and people I’ll be enjoying, I’m very much looking forward to soaking up wonderful sights in these incredible locales. What about you? Does the changing of the season have you snapping colourful shots?

WHILE YOU’RE HERE, AND BEFORE OR AFTER ENJOYING THESE VIDEOS, You’ll want to check out something new I have coming your way …
