A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: On the last day of winter, after sitting almost 16 hours enroute to Amsterdam, I needed to get outdoors and walk. I love this bridge, which is six tons of steel that was 3-D printed and installed in 2021. It’s known as the MX3D Smart Bridge, and is situated in Oudezijds Achterburgwal, aloso known as the Red Light District.

A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: one of my favourite spots in our city, this patch of green has some majestic trees with wonderful cherry – sakura – blossoms. These trees aren’t yet in bloom this year, yet they’ll smell wonderful when they are.

This shot: While I think I’ll never take beautiful blossoms for granted, I remember how good it was to enjoy these crabapple blossoms by Spanish Banks just over three years ago. In April 2020, while much of the world was closing down given the COVID-19 pandemic, we were still able to get outdoors and enjoy the abundance of our natural environment.

A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: a spectacular Swedish sunset last May. On a friend’s recommendation, I stayed at Stockholm’s Hotel Skeppsholmen, situated on an island. The ambience, service and food were everything I could have hoped for.

The sculpture, Three Dancing Maidens, brings charm to the Untermeyer Fountain, and the women and era depicted in the sculpture make me think of my grandmother and her sisters.
