Beginnings

A thought for your day, featuring photography from my travels. This shot: Spring in Vancouver can be a mixed bag. We typically receive generous amounts of rainfall, which is why our city is often lush and green. We also enjoy spectacular days such as the one we had yesterday. We have magnolias, azaleas, rhodos and cherry trees in beautiful blossom. When it comes to cherry trees (sakura), this mature stand of trees in the Point Grey area is my favourite.

Spring

A thought for your day, featuring photography from home and my travels. This shot: in the space of eight days, while I was in the US as a keynote speaker and then visiting NYC, Vancouver burst into bloom. These cherry blossoms are typical of yesterday’s walk. I also saw magnificent magnolias, azaleas and rhodos in bloom. Our own garden has daffs, hyacinths and the first of our camellias soaking up the sunshine, with our rhodos not far behind.
