Presenting at last week’s ELS Forum in Vancouver, I discussed the career trajectory one of my readers – a Real Careers alum – as an example of the merits of establishing and maintaining a current LinkedIn profile.
Even if you’re not contemplating a move
We know that LinkedIn is a resource not only for those engaged in a job search, but also for recruiters.
As I mentioned to the EAs at last week’s Forum, one of my readers was enjoying a successful career as a long-time EA at a major corporation when we first came to know one another. She might still be working at that corporation … except that a recruiter approached her with a unique job opportunity. Initially skeptical, she did her homework. After a series of interviews, she determined that this just might be her dream job. It represented new challenges, and new opportunities. She accepted the position, and loves it.
My readers’ most-used form of social media
I ask readers each year about the social media channels you use, if any – and you can expect the next such poll in a few weeks’ time. For each of 2014, 2015 and 2016, LinkedIn topped the list of my readers’ most-used social media resources.
I’m interested, though, in learning about the extent to which you use LinkedIn … and so that’s the focus of this Weekend Poll, below.
How LinkedIn are you?
Please take a couple of minutes to complete the poll below. As always, I look forward to hearing what you have to say; watch here for results early next week.
Endorsing or recommending another LI person is not allowed by our firm.
I can understand that. Thanks for commenting, Veronica.
